SA44b pre-amp?

    Hello all. Rubens and myself have been comparing spurii levels between the SA44 and the SA44B. The subject of the pre-amp came up and purely by chance I discovered that I don’t see the expected noise level reduction when using the pre-amp. I’ve tried at various freq’s and spans, and at many settings of ref level etc, but switching the pre-amp on/off does not have the expected result.
    I’m sure it worked with the old 2.xx software!

    Andy,
    In Spike, you must explicitly set preamp AND gain before it will accept manual settings. With gain set to 1 or 2, you should notice a big change when you turn on the preamp.
