    I just received an SA44B and TG44, downloaded Spike 3.1.1 for Win10 x64 and installed. It went through the driver install. No errors. Restarted the computer. But no matter what I try when I launch Spike, it’s unable to find any devices. I’ve tried plugging the SA into all USB ports and either hub, but no dice anywhere.

    When plugging/unplugging it I see a “USB Composite Device” appear and disappear from Device Manager. It has two Serial Converters, designated A and B. The green light comes on when plugged in.

    Did Spike REALLY install drivers for it?

    Hi Jan,

    At the end of the Spike installer it states that you will need to install the additional USB drivers found here
    https://solutionspagedemo.kinsta.cloud/sigdownloads/Spike/CDM%20v2.12.00%20WHQL%20Certified.exe

    Have you already installed this? If you have not, you will need to run the installer as administrator.

    I apologize for the inconvenience, hopefully we can get this resolved quickly.

    Yeah, I ran the one included included in the 3.1.1 download. As Administrator. The name of that file appears to exactly match the one in the download URL you posted…

    Also downloaded the one in your URL and ran that, then restarted. Well, Windows is now sitting in “Getting Windows ready.\nDon’t turn off your computer.” since 10-15 minutes or so. Let’s see if it ever gets out of this.

    Edit: it eventually moved on after about half an hour, restarted, and it’s exactly as before…

    Unchecking Load VCP in the advanced driver settings finally got it to work for me. Thanks to whoever mentioned it in a different thread!

    Users never used to have to uncheck the VCP in the advanced driver settings, but we are seeing that more and more now. I’m glad you got it fixed.

    For others who have this problem, in the device manager, locate “serial converter A”. On the Advanced tab, uncheck “load VCP driver”. Then do the same for Serial Converter B.

    For the TG44A, repeat this for “serial converter” (no A or B)
